K2A Skincare Range - A Closer Look
K2A Foaming Face Cleanser is a light facial wash which is designed to lift grime and impurities from the skin. It contains a combination of herbs – Feverfew, Seaweed extract and Aloe Vera. It also contains the essential oils of Sage, Lemon and Bergamot.
Facial washes became popular as many people found that a traditional oily cleanser was too heavy for their skin and it was a nice introduction for people who were soap and water users who liked to feel that process of lathering and rinsing off the skin.
The Seaweed extract (Irish red moss) allows the gel to gently foam once water is added to it. Feverfew has skin soothing properties and Aloe Vera is soothing and hydrating so it is good for problematic skin. Sage essential oil is anti – bacterial and anti-fungal, Lemon essential oil is refreshing, revitalising and stimulating and Bergamot essential oil helps to soothe nerves and reduce anxiety and works as an antidepressant.
Once applied to the skin and gently massaged in, it is rinsed off with warm water which then leaves the skin feeling fresh and clean.
This is a good wash for oily skin as it is light and will not clog the pores and has many antibacterial and healing properties.
This is a good wash for combination skin as it is deep cleansing as well as hydrating and soothing for the skin.
Sage oil is not recommended during pregnancy.

It is designed to remove dead skin cells on the surface of the skin using a mechanical method of gently rubbing the skin leaving it smooth and revitalised. It contains Argan oil, Coconut oil, Rosehip oil, Sweet Almond oil, Cocoa Butter and Jojoba Seeds.
The art of exfoliation has been around since ancient times using pumice stones and sand. Cleopatra famously bathed in milk – which contains lactic acid – to exfoliate her skin. It is practised by people all over the world and beauty clinics now use Alpha Hydroxy acids AHAs (such as lactic, glycolic and arginine) and Beta Hydroxy acids BHAs (such as Salicylic acid) to remove the top layer of the epidermis.
A deeper exfoliation can be performed by a doctor to remove deeper layers using ingredients such as a Phenols and this is usually performed under anaesthetic and requires a recovery and healing time. This type of exfoliation is known as a chemical exfoliation.
In recent years Vitamin A peels, have proved less abrasive on the skin as they work by penetrating the skin and causing the skin to speed its exfoliating process and shedding the dead skin cells so it does not cause trauma to the skin’s surface.
Argan Kernel oil helps to soften, strengthen, moisturise and protect the skin, Coconut oil has a light texture and is nourishing for the skin, Rosehip oil has antiaging properties and contains Vitamin C, Vitamin A, omega 6 and antioxidants which all help to protect the skin against free radicals which can cause cell and tissue damage.
Cocoa Butter is moisturising and it helps with dry skin, Sweet Almond oil is rich in Vitamin E which contributes to skin rejuvenation and helps with skin elasticity.
The exfoliant is applied to damp skin and using small circular movements by the fingertips, is gently rubbed into the skin then rinsed with warm water and gently pat dry.
This is a good exfoliant for oily skin as oily skin sometimes has thick layers and can look dull. It is also good for a combination skin as it has wonderful moisturising properties.
It should be used lightly on the skin and the eyes should be avoided.
